Anni and Waheed: Are they the dream team?

Among the running mates announced so far, Anni's counterpart Dr. Mohammed Waheed Hassan is considered the best choice by commentators. The others, with the possible exception of Dr. Shaheed, have so far been liabilities. Unlike them, many people believe Waheed will boost Anni's winning chances.

Dr. Mohamed Waheed Hassan is the first Maldivian to obtain a PhD. In 1989 Waheed competed with Ilyas Ibrahim in the elections to the Majlis and won the Male seat with a higher majority. His popularity made Waheed a threat to the ruling classes, and soon he became a victim of the notorious Bimbi Force. He was compelled to resign his parliamentary seat and flee the Maldives.

After leaving the Maldives in the middle of 1992, Waheed has had a distinguished career in the international civil service, starting as the UNICEF head of education in Tanzania and winding up his career as Special Representative of the Secretary General.

On Wednesday MDP selected Waheed as Anni's running mate, a move that is considered very smart by most political analysts.

What Dr. Waheed brings to MDP:

  • Waheed brings with him a wealth of government and international experience –experience that Anni lacks. Experts believe that Anni and Waheed complement each other's strengths and weakness and form a dream team;
  • With a PhD from Stamford, Waheed is one of the most respected intellectuals in the country.

Waheed's weaknesses:

  • He has been accused of running away from the Maldives when things don't go his way. Waheed however disagrees, saying he was forced to leave the Maldives under extreme pressure.
  • He is considered a liberal, an image that may not go well with the conservative elements in the society.

When Dr.Waheed left MDP I was truly saddened and worried about the credibility of MDP. The recent many departures of senior figures did also bring a lot of doubt among the true reformists. When Mr.Qasim Ibrahim came forward with his intention to contest for presidency, and the amount of "support" he received from many leading political figures in such a short period, briefly made me lean towards giving my vote to Mr.Qasim, because I truly want to change the current regime, and I was willing to sacrifice my vote, giving it to the most popular opposition candidate even if it may not be somebody I have any faith in. I wasn't very sure of MDP's strength with so many top players gone. I surely admire Anni, a true hero and one of the most courageous sons of our nation, and respect all who stayed behind him, but honestly I didn't feel MDP had the necessary substance to complete its purpose.

But today, I am truly delighted that Dr.Waheed came back and made the crucial and definitely the right choice to bring about the desperate change the people of Maldives have been waiting so long for. Dr.Waheeds knowledge and experience can immensely contribute in establishing the grave reforms and fully democratizing the nation as a whole. And in addition to that he brings an undeniable factor of international recognition to MDP and the reform movement as a whole. I wish to thank Dr.Waheed and his party Guamee Ithihaadh for choosing to work with Anni and MDP to give us a better future and take us to the shores of ANEH DHIVEHIRAJJE. I wish you all success and hope that the people of Maldives makes the right choice.

Thank you

Dr. Waheed the only name that does not bring hate and bad taste to your mouth. Among the Presidential contenders a name that strikes the hearts of all Maldivians. A man who has suffered in the hands of the Gayoom regeme. Recall the dys when his mother was a pregnant lady and was banished because she merely said Ibrahim Nasir former President ws a good man. She was not just banished but spat upon by the Gayoom cronies. Dr. Waheed brings respect and there is no curruption, No dirty scandles, not a story to tarnish his name. An amazing personality.
This is the dream team for the Maldivians and if we choose well we will hed in the right direction. Congratulations Anni on your wise choice and r. Waheed for your true commitment towards democracy. This is a man who has his own party yet he chose to be a running mate to the icon of Maldivian democracy Anni.

I am asking the author of this blog if he heard that Dr. Waheed was not able to read a simple sura when he was requested to be an Imam for a prayer on an island. He was not able to completely read the first sura of quran as well when he prayed on this day.

So my concern about Dr. Waheed / Sawad are this. They have been away from this country for a long time and they need schooling (culture / religion / etc) before they gets chosen as a running mate.

This is the truth and I was not excited at all when Dr. Waheed got chosen as the running amte for Anni.

Yes we need a running mate who would be able to perform in extreme pressure. Not one who runs away simply when the pressure is too much.

I have no jealousy or grudge to Dr. Waheed or anything peronal. Simply my view about the selection.

thanks

Mr.Waheed is a good man.But I have this very important issue on religion and our culture in respect of his normination as a RM for Anni.Mr.Waheed,recently told the press that he left the country due the extreme pressure imposed him by the dictator and due to the respect he had for family values and that he believes in the fact if one cannot manage a family , then he/she would fail managing a country. Those were his own words.Rumours are that his children are brought up with american values and top of all they are church visiotrs, wear cross and take dogs as pets.So I believe, that if thats the truth, Dr.Waheed does not repect our country's moral values and neither he loves the country. He is a political failure in my opinion and he is just another guy running for status quo.

Yes, they are the one.

"Anni and Waheed complement each other's strengths and weakness and form a dream team; "

The above statement is true as far as knowledge, experience etc is considered.(forgetting about the coming and going)

But what about the religous knowledge. Its not that president or v.president has to be a religous scholar. But if basic religous knowledge is missing such as not being able to read small sura from Quran, then what happens?
and can Anni complement such lack of Islamic knowledge to Waheedh?

I am sure many Maldivians will consider Islam as their first priority which needs to be valued.

Although Dr.Waheedh rejectected my offer (http://www.angelfire.com/nj4/change/message.htm) to be my running mate in 2004 I believe now and have the feeling that this time MDP will win “Inshaa Allah”and hope the Maldivian people will not lose this time.

MY SINCERE CONGRATULATIONS! TO THE MOVE BY MDP AND DR. WAHEEDH OF NATIONAL UNITY ALIANCE...and believe its time the rest who has been a part of THIS STRUGGLE should join in leaving the misunderstandings for the sake of the country and our people.

I believe Dr. Waheed went to STANFORD (not Stamford). Stanford is seen as one of the best learning institutions in the world.

That people claim Dr. Waheed preaches and or practices Christianity is only an indication of how scared they are of him. Dr. Waheed is the perfect person to lead our country forward - its a shame he felt he should join MDP - though he still has my vote!

I wonder how things would turn out this time, i admire Anni's courageous attempt towards true democracy. But i still doubt about their leadership. For Dr. Waheed everytime something doesn't turn the way he wants he flyies back to US, leaving the battle field. I just doubt for a person who coudn't controll his family and coudn't give commitment to his family would be able to lead a country. Insha Allah hope things would turn good to our Nation...Mont

As the author agrees, Dr.Waheed is well respected internationally and locally. I happened to remember Dr.Waheed's first campaign for the parliament and it was a good experience. Ever since I have a keen interest in politics. Thank god, with leadership of Anni and the courage of thousand of reformist, we see this day. It is arguable, the credibility of Dr.Waheed "come&go" policy. With all the odds, I beleive Anni and Dr.Waheed are a fine pair to lead Maldives. My Vote goes to Anni. Thanks for Sappe for bringing a fair and balanced article.

i think both anni and waheeehdh are hardocre secularists. both of them do not have respect for islamic values.

if waheedhs children were reared as per christian values, then we must outrightly reject waheeds bid to become the president of one of the most pious muslim nations on earth.

If Dr.Waheed can rid himself of cowardly acts like running away under pressure.....i am sure he could contribute much to this country.
hope unlike Dr. Waheed's mother, he doesn't think too highly of president Ibrahim Nasir,we should not forget the Thinadhoo genocide.
am just concerned, however my vote is with MDP.
also not being able to read a simle sura....is great.now thats one reason for me to like Mr.Waheed.
we dont need extremist, barbaric nuts to run the country..
islam would never go hand in hand with democracy.....

I think Anni/Waheed would be the strongest combination in the upcoming elections. Anni has the potential and charisma for the top job and Waheed's local and international experience not only makes it more perfect but also have given a lot more confidence to the mdp supporters of a landslide victory. Like every asset has a price tag, Many mdp key figures left for no good reasons but anni's faith and hopes for MDP did not change. Now looking at waheed's "come&go" story, we need to think of the true reason for this happening. Even if such thing happened a man can always change. We all know that we cant move forward with staring back at past. I am 110% sure waheed would not even dare to think of running away from vice president post. The "come&go" story has been brought up by those who dislike waheed in person. So all in all i just want to say Waheed becoming running mate of Anni has given more fruit for a landslide victory for the all time strong MDP or in other words the MDP Alliance.

Thanks

I think Dr. Waheed decision as a running mate of Anni/Mdp is definitely the right choice to bring about the desperate change to the people of Maldives have been waiting for last thirty years.
So hope Anni and Dr. Waheed will make us happy. Congratulations Dr. Waheed,

Neither Nasheed nor Waheed has the credentials to be the President of the Republic of Maldives. Educational background, struggle for democracy and many more that you attribute to these fellows are not the only things needed. So they are not the dream ticket, as far as I am concerned. Waheed and Nasheed makes the perfect combination for those minority who want the introduction of other religions here in defiance of majority. We need people of good 'akhlaaq'.

WHEN I WAS A DIE HARD SUPPORTER OF MDP DURING IBRA'S PRESIDENCY I USED TO ATTEND ALL MDP GATHERING ANYWHERE IN MALE'.

IT WAS THEN I FOUND OUT THAT DR.WAHEED AND ANNI WERE TWO WORLDS APART AFTER ANALYZING THE TWO CHARACTERS IN MY LIMITED MIND. IN ONE OF THE GATHERINGS, DR.WAHEED GAVE OUT SOME YELLOW RIBBONS WHICH HE WANTED US TO DISPLAY IN PUBLIC WHICH NO BODY DID EXCEPT IN THE GATHERING.

ANNI WAS BASICALLY AN ACTIVIST AND DR.WAHEED A MODERATOR ACCORDING MY ANALYSIS.

IF AN ACTIVIST AND A MODERATOR GET TOGETHER I THINK THE SHOW WILL VERY SOON COME TO AN END, LIKE IN THE 'BANANA AND THE BOOK' STORY.

ONE FINE EVENING DR.WAHEED(THE BANANA) AND ANNI (THE BOOK) WILL GO OUT FOR A WALK, WHEN SUDDENLY DR.WAHEED WOULD FIND ANNI GOING TOO FAST, SO HE WOULD CALL OUT TO, ANNI AND ASK HIM NOT TO ACT TOO FAST, AND DEMANDS THAT ANNI SHOULD STOP AND TRIES TO MODERATE. THEN THE STORY ENDS, AND WAHEED GOES BACK TO COTTON EYE JOE!

WHAT I MEAN IS THESE ARE TWO PEOPLE WITH VERY DIFFERENT PHILOSOPHIES, IF ONE WOULD LIKE IT TO RAIN TODAY THE OTHER WOULD LIKE THE DAY TO BE SUNNY. SO THEY ARE AN INCOMPATIBLE PAIR. THEY ARE BOUND TO BE SEGREGATED IN EVERYTHING THEY DO.

BUT I DO HOPE ALL THE BEST FOR THEM, IF ONLY THEIR ENGAGEMNET LASTS TILL THE WEDDING!

BY THE WAY MY NUMBER ONE CHOICE IS HASSAN/SHAHEED. ANNI/WAHEED MY #2.

LOOK, GUYS!

RECENTLY IN THE USA, OBAMA HAD TO DENY ALL ACCUSATIONS DIRECTED TOWARDS HIM THAT ALTHOUGH HIS GRANDPARENTS WERE MUSLIM, HE HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH ISLAM.

HE HAD TO DO THIS TO PLEASE THE U.S VOTING PUBLIC. HE HAD TO ATTEND CHURCHES AND READ FROM THE BIBLES AND SO ON AND SO FORTH JUST TO CONVINCE THE U.S PEOPLE THAT HE IS WHAT THEY WANT HIM TO BE, BASICALLY, NO AFFILIATIONS WITH THE MUSLIM COMMUNITY WHAT SO EVER.

SO MY ARGUMENT IS THAT, SINCE USA IS CLAIMING TO BE THE MOST CIVILIZED COUNTRY ON EARTH, EVEN THEY CHECK OUT A PERSON RELIGIOUS BACKGROUNDS WHEN IT COMES TO ELECTING THEIR PRESIDENT.

SOMEONE HERE HAS SAID THAT IT IS NOT NECESSARY FOR US TO CHECK IF OUR PRESIDENT CAN LEAD AN ISLAMIC PRAYER IF REQUIRED. BUT I THINK THIS IS NOT A GOOD IDEA. WE AS A SOVEREIGN NATION HAVE CERTAIN BELIEFS AND NORMS WHICH WE CANNOT THROW FROM THE BACKDOOR.

SO I WOULD STILL INSIST THAT OUR PRESIDENT AND VICE PRESIDENT SHOULD HAVE SOME ISLAMIC CREDENTIALS AND A GOOD BACKGROUND.

THUS ANNI/WAHEED IS NOT THE BEST DUE HERE.

I did consider voting for Hassan Saeed. But I changed my mind after seeing his video on Youtube praising Gayoom. I also remember Dr Shaheed comparing maumoon to Nelson Mandela. What hypocrites. Lets not give such people a chance. We need to make a clean start once and for all. I'll vote Anni and Waheed

Abdulla Waheed's comment as Dr. Waheed been the best running mate choice as far as commentatorsa re concerned, I feel incorrect and ill thought.

Dr Waheed may be the first to attain a PHD and may have studied in Stanford. This by no means makes him a capble person to run Maldives. Yes you are right. He runs away. The problem is not running away. The problem is running away and then doing nothing substantial to change what he could not change when he was in parliament. He is, I must say a scavenger wo rushed back when Anni and the rest struggled big time and forced gayoom to loosem his grip on the plotical dissidents. I agree Anni has all the guts it takes to stand up against oppression, but whether he would make a good presidential leaser remains to be seen. One thing I am sure is Dr. Waheed's desire for the top job will make it difficult for him to walk behind Anni. My overall judgement about Dr. Waheed is, he is a slefish very self centred opportunist.

As far as i'm concerned, among the running mates the best chioce is made by MDP. I believe that really MDP ITHTHIHAADH can bring us to the shore of ANEH DHIVEHI RAA'JJE

Dr. Waheedh only comes to male' when he feels that the gov is goin to b over thrwon by the protestors out on the streets of male'. now he returned again in time to get the top job, but he realised that he cud not gather suport in this limited time, so he thought that the best thing to do is to join Anni and atleast b the vice president. He knows that one day he can even b the president as Anni is just a puppet for him

Its definite that Dr. Waheed made the rightful choice, by joining MDP. and about bringing other religion to our beloved country is not something any one can do, as long as we maldivian have good faith in our religion and in a MDP goverment all the imaams and sheikhs will be free to talk about religion and give the proper information about the islam....

On Religion:
On religion there are three ways we can go about it.

1. We can have religion and state separate. (Like MDP)

2. We can have religion and state together and pretend it is not (Like Gayoom)

3. We can have an Islamic state with a mullah as the ruler, like Taliban or i don't know where.

MDP religious experience:

-Aniya who is a writer and was at higher post at MDP when she published and article that was damaging to women wearing Vail. The article was condemned by MDP's Islamic council. Aniya resigned from her MDP post.

-Then next is the woman for vice-president issue. The MDP Islamic council disagreed to it. Our presidential candidate adhered to that and the issue was reconsidered.

Considering all to the candidates MDP has adhered to Islamic council most in their work. But as other leaders are proclaimed Islamic scholars they would like to mix politics and religion as much as they can. This is a deadly mix to play with peoples minds. It’s more frightening and more possible than some one brining other religions to this land.

I wonder why some people are blaming Dr.Hassan for praising Maumoon when he was AG.

What would a lamb do when he finds a wolf in sheeps clothing? How can the sheep escape unharmed without a little bit of praising for the wolf?

Well! I have some personal experience of Dr.Hassan trying to spend from his own pocket to a drug addict! This is not a joke.

As far as i can see I am very much convinced that he accepted Maumoon's offer for AG, because Saeed genuinely wanted to make things better for all the Maldivians. If he was unsincere, why should he present important bills to the Majlis, passing and adopting of which will only benefit the common man?

If Saeed did not resign from the government as AG, we would not have seen the wave of resignations that followed. Earlier it was the culture of Maumoon's ministers to keep prostrating to him even if he slays you bit by bit, tolerating all the injustices and closing their eyes infront of Maumoon even if he commits day-light-robbery, splashing curry to whatever rice Maumoon cooked legally or illegally.

For me Hassan is an unblemished peal in Maldivian politics.

So far I have not seen any convincing excuses for not voting for Hassan and Shaheed. Yes, not to mention the clumsy tit for tat stones being thrown by Adam Zahir, claims which I believe are directed towards Hassan out of desperation and confusion.

So you know to whom my vote goes.

I am not sure of these guys' capabilities to govern this country. But both of them are hungry opportunists. Hundreds of people made MDP.....Ibra, Qasim, Reekoa are part of the team. Anni hijacked the party when he was sure that the party had attained enough public support. Similarly Waheed just recently formed a party, tried his level best to contest in this election as a presidential candidate, biut could not run because he failed gather 300 members for a meeting to endorse his candidacy. This forced him to become a running mate of someone.
And he has ended up with Anni. This was not planned, it was not a choice.....Anni had asked more than a dozen fellas to be his runnung mate before Waheed.
This is IRAADHA KURAVVAIGEN libunu JOADEH! No need to boast about it.

a person with a sane mind woud not consider voting mr. wheed for very basic reasons.

He is selfish, egoistic and considers himslef very capable. the proof is he comes back to maldives whenevr there is a chance. also he is liar according to media speculation. he said to media that he quit UN job but infact he came to male on a no pay leave to check if he can grab an opportunity.

there is not a single guy who is worthy of votes except Gasim. he is a man of people. He loves people. In golhaabo regimes, lucrative scholarships are always reserved for his family members, children of his associates and son. education fund is fund setup soley to satsify education of children of golhaa puppets abroad. i request some funding frm thi shit and i only five hundred rufiya while examination board heads daughter was granted 500kilo buks. this is why im behind gasim who genoroulsy expended for higher education and sucha genrous fore surely can lead our contry becaz he has wht other guys lack, that is absolute trustworhtiness.

ANNI AND IBRA SEEM TO BE THE ONLY HONEST AND SINCERE GUYS IN THE RACE. OTHERS WERE FORCED OUT OF GAYOOMS CABINET FOR VARIOUS REASONS AND ARE NOW PRETENDING TO WORK FOR THE INTEREST OF THE COUNTRY.

HASSAN WAS FORCED TO LEAVE AS HE ALONG WITH JAMEEL COULD NOT TAKE THE HEAT AT THE DEBATE ON SYSTEM OF GOVERNMENT AND WALKED OUT OF IT ONLY TO BE MET WITH HEAVY CRITICISIM FROM DRP GUYS LIKE SHAFIU AND MOHAMED HUSSEIN. DR SHAHEED FOLLOWED THEM A MONTH OR SO LATER TO AVOID A NOCONFIDENCE VOTE IN PARLIAMENT.

GASIM LEFT BECAUSE HIS POLICIES TO HELP PROP UP GAYOOM HAD FORCED THE COUNTRY INTO A HUGE BUDGET DEFICT AND HE HAD TO TAKE THE BLAME FOR IT.

Just wait and see who will win this historical event. Though Anni and Waheed are most appealing combination, i don’t really think they the right choice for country like Maldives. Anni laughed sarcastically when Hassan Saeed recited Ayah in Quran during Riyasee suvaalu. Waheed was not able recite shortest Surah in Quran. So how they can lead the 100% Islamic country. It is your responsibility to elect right person (in all aspects) as our future leader. Think twice before you cast your vote.

Anonymous said...

I am not sure of the Religious background of Both Anni and Waheed.

We have heard a lot about Waheed's daughters and their behaviour. Also We have heard that they have married chsristians.

Waheed failed to recite "Al Fathiha" from quran, that every muslim should be able to read to perfom the 5 daily prayers.

Anonymous said...

Maumoon will win this time, not because of his popular support, but because of the fragmentation of the opposition.

Leaving Qasim aside, Dr. Hassan is the source of fragmentation. Imagine the results if Hassan Joins MDP. But that is not going to happen because of Hassan's silly ego.

So if Maumoon wins (he will), it would be because of Hassans stubbornness to cooperate with MDP.
Divided, everyone falls.

Anonymous said...

Anni and Waheed, we will ask you to recite "Al-Fathiha" and other readings of the prayers in an open forum.

So start learning these.

With a PhD from Stanford Waheed is one I have some concern about as I do not know his religion training or belief. This is quite important for us at this juncture.

Anonymous said...

I fear the word fundamentalism because it is a word coined by the west and it is used to attack the religion when the truth is revealed. Its not used in its proper place. There are certain elements of religion without which there will be no religion. And these elements are expressed people view it as fundamentalist views. Religion is established on certain principles and scholars are well versed in these. So let them decide what is best for us.

in a muslim country , one can not separate politics and religion unless separtate the two things forecully like in Turky where miliatry musscle power does the job. does it mean in maldives we can do the same? No.religous scholars and islamists will have always a say in politics.

koifulhaa egeytha the father of ego is our beloved running mate Dr. Waheed. ask Nazaki Zaki what waheed said when he was asked to call his supporters to vote for him during MDP congress.

Why they are not the dream team.

First of all MDP failed to endorse a woman as a running mate.

Secondly MDP was not able to show to the public a running mate from MDP.

MDP always claim they are the biggest party. If you are the biggest party how come you were not able to show a running mate from MDP?

Sometimes the biggest party political thinking might be very immature while a smaller party in size might be politically more matured.

An example here : I was watching Liberal Party Running Mate announcement on TV and once they announced a woman's name I said "wow!" Yes it's a wow factor. Why the so called big party was not able to endorse a woman when they should have taken that decision.

Go Ibra ! You are the man.

Anni has done a lot to Maldives till now. All the trouble we are facing today is the result of Annis selfish thinking. He convinced the international society and us that we are ready for a modern party system. All he had on mind is to get rid of Maumoon. He never thought of bringing a good system to the maldives. In his speaches more than sixty percent of his time was spent on talking about Maumoon rather than talking about the country. For him a change means changing Maumoon..nothing else. He must be totally responsible for what we are facing today.
He lost track and became desperate. He wanted to finish the constitution in a hurry...he knows that.
He encouraged us to get support frm each other and to go forward. i support him for that. But where are we going?

His level of desperation became much clear when he chose Dr. Waheed as running mate. The grass root level knows that. Only the top level people who are scared
are supporting his choice.

Dr. waheed is well educated but he cannot plan things well..When he planed everything and when it was time for a public meeting , there was no one in the hall??? what does this tell us. And when Anni talks about THAAHIRU DHIRIULHUN he shuld think about those 3000 who were manipulated by Waheed.

Anni and Wheed may win, but they cant take us to the place we wanted.

Thank you

Anni's choice of his running mate is a choice led by ignorance. Ignorance of Islamic knowledge is ignorance of what is wise! To become a good leader, especially in the Maldives, you have to have a thorough insight into the teachings of Islam. Many people while refuting my point are likely to bring Maumoon to the picture! Yes, Maumoon had his Degree and Masters in Shari'ah and Law, but having certified as such is insufficient to claim a good leader within the parameters of Islamic principles.

Let me come to my point! Anni has made a wrong decision and he cannot make a good decision, a decision that will be acepted by the masses, because he is a bit ignorant of many things. He may be exposed to foreign politics, modern democracy and unrests. Modern Democracy itself is false and lying to its very principles. Killing and invading in the name of democracy is undemocratic.

So far, I have not mentioned anything regarding the probability of him winning or losing the G Election 2008. My forecast stands at 51% in favour of Anni. But, even if Anni wins the Election by 51% majority, it is not a proof that he is a good leader. This is because the society is far below the ability to choose a right leader. Unless you are right, you can choose a right person. Our society is filled with all sorts of evils, and you expect good out of evils! It is impossible! Good never comes out of evil! And evil never comes out of good! If not, there will not be such a clear distiction between good and bad!

I wonder if waheed is just attracted to power and wealth? Or if he really have a good intention to bring good changes to Maldives. Why did he leave maldives and again came back? Why did he leave MDP and again join MDP? was it beacause of the chance to get closer to power or a chance to help the people of maldives?
What comes to my mind is a story of waheed's sister waheeda. Is waheed also like her?
Let me tell you about her if you already dont know. She got married to a very very rich man when she was in SEC. This man was already married with kids. And when her friends in SEC asked her why she was into marrying this much older guy with kids..her reasoning was she got a diamond ring..would get a honeymoon in paris..etc etc...

Anonymous said...

etc..spend time in the resorts..live a life full of richness as a wife of a rich man...she didn't give a damn about anything else or anyone else...no values, no ethics...thats what she did.

If waheed is anything like her..he could be getting attracted to chances to gain power and the wealth associated with it... So everytime he sees a good easy chance he comes back to Maldives...when it doesn't work out..he doesn't want the hard life so leaves Maldives for the good life..
Or is waheed a good man who is really hoping to bring a good change to Maldives??

Dear anonymous 5.13 pm,
Give us a break. You are associating Waheed with something his sister did when she was a school girl. Come on man. Which school girl didn’t have such crazy dreams? (Except of course your own sisters who I am sure spend all their spare time praying and reading holy Quran.) You conveniently forget that after the ‘mistake’ she did in early life she later turned out to be a very responsible housewife. Now for God’s sake please don’t start telling rumors about her life. If you really insist on talking about other’s sisters kindly also give your identity along with the names of your sisters.

Dear anonymous 10:48 pm,

Many of us have crazy ideas and dreams..but how many really act on it eh??

What I wrote about..is something that have happened...and it also shows the values and ethics associated with her. By the way inoccent school kids who doesn't know right from wrong are not even allowed to get married. Waheeda was not of that age at that time..as she got married to the very rich man...without any consideration for anything else or anyone else.

Surely we have a number of cases like this in Maldives...
People who get into marriage ..or even politics to gain wealth and richness from it..without any consideration for anyone else.

Family members can have common ethics and values ..but it can also differ..thus I wonder if waheed is like her...

If I have to vote for maumoon's son I would think about maumoon ethics and values ...ofcourse his son can be very different from him...

@anon 10.48pm why do you ask him for his identity? So that some MDP goons can rough him up? or worse, kill him? Thuggery is one reason why some people will stay away from MDP just as much as they stay away from DRP.
